Bingo - the RAM, that is. Tiger is, as with every new incarnation of MacOS X, even more RAM hungry than the previous version. Actually, if you take some measurements, you will find that Tiger uses LESS memory to get from boot to the Finder than 10.3.9 does. o More StartupItems being removed to use other more On-Demand mechanisms.
