You guys have already said in a few places that they're not supported and that's fine, but when the documentation _is_ the code, people are going to do stuff like this when it suits their purposes. We weren't fortunate enough to have so much timely and detailed feedback from Apple engineers on these lists back then. Try PATH_MAX (1024) characters instead. Why would I want to do that? It's the node name length of 32 that we were discussing. I guess you missed Nick Blievers posting about DEVMAXPATHSIZE (128)? I said at the time that I couldn't remember what the limit was. Right, I said the max path size was 128.... and the max individual node size was 32.
