My apologies if this has been discussed before on this list. I'm new to Mac OS X from a Linux background. I am trying to port a filesystem i wrote for Linux into Mac. But I couldn't find any documentation on how the VFS operates in the Mac kernel. Does the Mac allow you ro register your own filesystem? I read that currently the kernel allows only leaf filesystems and not stackable ones. What is the difference between them? I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could provide any links/documentation etc. these questions interest me too. I've looked at the documentation and it stated that the VFS is currently uder big changes. Are these changes stable now in Tiger? This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
