My host machine is of PPC while my target machine is of x86. Therefore, are there any extra configurations that I need to do, especially with gdb? When I source the kgmacros, gdb gave me an error saying Error in sourced command file: No symbol table is loaded. use the "file" command. When i tried 'file' instead of 'souce', it says that kgmacros is not in executable format. - billy On Nov 8, 2007 6:05 AM, Alexander v. Below <below@mac.com> wrote:
It is a known bug, ID 5464154.
You are probably running on PPC. Use FireWireSDK 24 until a new version (later than 25) is released.

Thanks for the description. To follow up, when I was trying to open the firewire proxy at
open FireWireKDPProxy
on my host machine, a new terminal forks out and says
Bus error logout
What does that mean? At this point of time, I already have my firewire cabel connected
thanks, - billy

I am attempting two machine debugging using a 6-6pin Firewire cable. However, I could not figure out the command to target the test machine.
I put up a description of this at http://gemello.livejournal.com
Let me know if the additional information there helps.
(To summarize, you need to run /Developer/FireWireSDK25/Tools/FireWireKDP\ 1.3.9/FireWireKDPProxy, then from another window invoke gdb, and inside gdb say "kdp-reattach localhost")
