I'm having some exceptionally odd pauses with Snow Leopard. It feels as though something is blocking upon file access to my Drobo Firewire 800 unit, however it happens at a seemingly consistent rate. If I boot from the Drobo unit pauses happen continually, however if I simply am accessing it from a Macbook Pro on my Mac Pro with the Macbook Pro in Target mode then it appears to happen at more irregular intervals. The folks at Drobo have basically said it should work fine and don't really seem to be too helpful and I am really struggling tracking this down as I am not 100% convinced that it is a device related issue. I did have some bad blocks on a drive and have replaced it, all else SEEMS to check out okay on this Mac Pro. I was hopeful to get some tips on this list as to what I should do next so as to ascertain the source of the problem. I am not even sure where to profile or how to poke in this situation as it is so irregular. This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
