How can I tell Project Builder to let me use vi as an editor?

It is very frustrating not to be able to use vi as an editor. Looking at: http://developer.apple.com/documentation/DeveloperTools/ProjectBuilder/Proje... After clicking on Preferences in the Project Builder, I found the File Types setup menu, but do not see vi as an option. I am sure the solutions is easy, and would appreciate help. Thank you.
