site_archiver@lists.apple.com Delivered-To: darwin-kernel@lists.apple.com I thought I had this issue knocked (recap: FCP claims it saved a file over AFP, file is 0 length. No errors. No kernel messages) Yesterday I discovered the admin had a ":" in the path to his files. I also discovered that a file with a ":" in it's name could not be read or deleted and that Finder displayed the ":" as a "/", so the customer wasn't even aware it was in there. I had to see it from the shell. After fixing that, I thought we might have solved it. However it happened again. Next step is to gather a dtruss from the AppleFileServer daemon and see if we can't spot something unusual. Also want to have the customer try saving locally. I don't understand the /.vol mechanism. I see lots of temp files in there during other activity. Are files saved there and moved over? Is there a write up on the .vol mechanism? -- Steve Modica CTO - Small Tree Communications www.small-tree.com phone: 651-209-6509 ext 301 mobile: 651-261-3201 _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
