I have a 2005 iMac with a G5 and a 20" screen - nothing else fancy. About 2 weeks ago, I started getting Kernel Panics while starting up. Tried everything obvious, nothing seemed to work. It won't run from a CD (DVD), but I can hold down the Option-key and see the startup volume. Also, I was able to get it into Target mode (T) and using firewire, save most of my files. Then I reinstalled (upgrade mode) the system over the firewire connection. It came up finally, but just a few times. Now it's back to Panic mode again. Does anyone know what I might do to locate the problem? It reports "Unresolved kernel trap (cpu0) 0x700 - Prog DAR=0x00..003696E000 and PC=0x00..00D59C8.
