Hi Brian (and the List)... Thanks for the test fork routine. My maxprocperuid is set to 512 and using the test fork routine you wrote, I can get 513. So.... perhaps the unable to fork is not related to maxprocperuid but perhaps something else. Could it be stacksize? stacksize 65536 kbytes Is there anyway to increase this? I have 2gig of memory on this G5 and even under full load I usually have a little over 500meg free. I recognize the number above as being the old hard limit. Might this have something to do with posix threads (pthread)? I can't seem to override the stacksize number any higher than it already is. Is this a function of the shell or the OS?
