It's safe to delete your admin.pbxuser within your project. You will loose some project settings, but nothing critical. admin.pbxuser will contain per user project settings. The critical file in the project bundle is project.pbxproj. The compiler is gcc/g++, and this is a good list for questions about compiler problems (perhaps darwin-dev is better). Xcode is an IDE. Check <http://lists.apple.com> for the exact list name. There's a link to a list of hosted lists.
