Hello! So I hope this is the right list, because I think it's a device-driver related problem. The situation: having CD inserted. HDD is in standby mode (from power management facilities). Always, when the HDD is reactivated the CD-Rom is reactivated, too. So this is annoying when one wants not to remove a cd, but have it at hand. I first thought there is something about firmware or how ata is working, so I netbooted linux and netbsd from another boxed, mounted cd, switched down hdd/cd and reactivated hdd (by performing some cat /dev/diskdevice). On these systems is no such effect. So here is my environment: - iBook 12" 16MB VRam (600MHz G3) - Mac OS X 10.2.2 (no modified kernel or something, just plain system) - standard 20GB HDD, CD-Rom as prebuild by Apple -- Greetings Matthias Kretschmer _______________________________________________ darwin-kernel mailing list | darwin-kernel@lists.apple.com Help/Unsubscribe/Archives: http://www.lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo/darwin-kernel Do not post admin requests to the list.
