A recent discussion on the list discussed the recent time machine update with darwin kernel 9.2.2 and how it fixed some tcp problems. I have seen some issues with tcp too, but what I've seen is that io hangs on an iscsi connection after some indeterminate period of time. This problem began in 10.5.2 and appears to be fixed with the time machine update's darwin kernel 9.2.2. The problem is that no similar update was released for OS X Server. The previous discussion mentioned copying the OS X Client kernel to OS X Server but this isn't a good solution. Is a similar update for OS X Server on the way and/or will this be fixed in 10.5.3?
Very interesting question, as we are in the same situation. At least for us, putting the client kernel 9.2.2 (extracted from the time machine update) onto our server hasn't involved any problems or issues, yet. But, of course, this definitely cannot be the solution - at least in my opinion... Best regards, Steffen -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dipl.-Inf.
