If you do, you need to be willing to update your application every time we do a software update of any kind, just like we have to be prepared to update ps, lsof, and anything else that uses SPI any time we do a Software Update. Way back in the early 1990s during the SunOS 4.x days we experienced the same problem in our code that looked at internal kernel structures.
