Darwin-kernel mailing list (Darwin-kernel@lists.apple.com) Help/Unsubscribe/Update your Subscription: http://lists.apple.com/mailman/options/darwin-kernel/site_archiver%40lists.a... I'm trying to build 10.4.1 and [...] this may some day ship to customers [...] All I really want to do is build a kernel from scratch. Unpack the sources, switch gcc to 3.3, install those two helper tools (seg_hack & regedit? .. you see it ...), install libkld.a, then This off the top of my head and without having sources available right now. Last time I tried (10.4 sources), this wasn't particularly difficult and had the expected result. If it doesn't work, the error should be obvious. Surely this must be a well-known thing how to do inside Apple, multiple kernels must be compiled every day during development. Don't depend too much on this, they have similar, but different sources than those available public. If you want to join others building from Darwin sources: <http:// www.opendarwin.org/>. There's another kernel build HowTo in the FAQ, IIRC. This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
