I have thought about doing it as follows, simply having two .mpkg files, one called "Install English" and another "Install Deutsch" and let the user choose that way. The app package has the root of the app something like: ./MyGreatApp.app/ ./MyGreatApp.app/Contents/ ./MyGreatApp.app/Contents/Resources The language packages actually have the same thing, so: ./MyGreatApp.app/Contents/Resources/Japanese.lproj etc. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <installer-gui-script minSpecVersion="1.0"> Hello installer-dev, I've just ported a title from Windows to the Mac and we are doing a simultaneous English/German release of it. You could then group them all together with a mpkg (Jaguar, Panther,Tiger) or a distribution script (Tiger) to install them all at once. PackageMaker and IFPkgPathMappings

Xtensions are usually installed in a directory like: /Applications/QuarkXPress/XTension But the user may have changed the name of Quark's directory so I use the searchPlugin. In my Resources/TokenDefinitions.plist I have... <key>Quark6</key> <array> <dict> <key>searchPlugin</key> <string>LaunchServicesLookup</string> <key>identifier</key> <string>com.quark.QuarkXPress</string> </dict> </array> In my quarkInfo.plist I have... ... <key>IFPkgFlagDefaultLocation</key> <string>/Applications/QuarkXPress/XTension</string> ... <key>IFPkgPathMappings</key> <dict> <key>/Applications/QuarkXPress/XTensions</key> <string>{Quark6}</string> </dict> I build my package using: PackageMaker -build -p Q.pkg -f XTension -b /tmp -s -ds -v -r Resources -i quarkInfo.plist When I build it, I see it finds QuarkXPress from the installer log... "Quark6 installed to /Applications/QuarkXPress 6.5/QuarkXPress" So I would have suspected that it would install my "XTension" folder inside the QuarkXPress bundle but instead it installs in in the IFPkgFlagDefaultLocation. Why isn't it using the IFPkgPathMappings? Problem w/Tiger&Panther Metapackage

I'd like to put them into a metapackage so it looks like 1 installer to our end users. I'm using the new style requirements checking and they all work fine on the seperate .pkg bundles. I'm building a pkg for Tiger and one for Panther since we need slightly different files. Under Tiger (Installer version 2.0.2 (86)), if I run the metapackage that I built the checks work fine and the Panther version is disabled in the Customize... menu and the Tiger one is enabled and selected as expected. If I run the installer under Panther (Installer version 1.4.4 (v253.4)) I can see in the log that the checks are being run at the appropriate times and they are working correctly w/PASS and FAIL's at the right time. However under the customize menu both items are *enabled*. Is this just a bug/feature difference between the Panther and Tiger versions of the installers? Is there something I can add to the plist's to make this work? I've got pretty standard Info.plist and Description.plist files setup. If anyone has requests for particular parts of my plists let me know and I'll post them. The OS version check is based off whats on Apple's site, and the rest are just copied/modified from what PackageMaker makes. This email sent to site_archiver(a)lists.apple.com

I don't want to use an external script. Is there a way to do this? I'd normally do it in a volume check with my.target.availableKilobytes, but the spec I'm working with requires it in the installation check for some reason.
