With the "Destination Select" being the problem. When the package is left to its own devices, i.e. with no InstallerSections.plist file, "Destination Select" comes after "License". It always results in a "No packages to build" error. I have been working around it by installing Xcode 2.5 in a separate folder and specifying the full path to its PackageMaker binary in an included file in my scripts. (Note that Tools/packagemaker in Xcode 2.5 is a symlink to PackageMaker in /Developer/Utilities, regardless of where you install Xcode 2.5; I ran into this and initially thought PackageMaker was broken in 2.5 as well.) Otherwise, unless someone from Apple actually monitors this list, it won't get noticed and fixed. okay that made it work. i just basically went "up" one folder and installed what's inside it instead. icon comes thru perfectly. that's just ridiculous to have to work around it like that. Look for the prior postings titled "PackageMaker & Custom Folder Icons" dated March 26 to March 30, 2008. I had the same problem. Since I'm a novice, I spent lots of time going down rabbit trails. My final posting to the thread of the above subject was an effort to explain what seemed to be the conditions that caused it for me. For me, it seems that Leopard's PackageMaker fails to work for custom icons for any folder at the root of the source for the package. The "Include root in package" option gets the root folder, but not the root folder's icon. But folders nested within that root did seem to preserve custom icons. on 10.4 when using package maker, i could specify "keep resource forks". I'd check this box, and a custom icon pasted over my document would stay with the document when installed with the installer. on 10.5, under "package flags" you can un-check "discard resource forks" (which is un-checked as default) but this no longer has the desired effect. my package gets installed sans custom icon. what's the deal?
