Well, if you install this distribution script and you're an admin, it will run the installation without asking you to enter an admin password. On Snow Leopard we had some users complain because the App folder Installer created inside Applications/ was getting created with permissions that was locking the user out (Everyone=No Access). So I followed what I thought was the generally accepted wisdom, and set the permissions for all the installed items in my packages to owner = root, group = admin. That didn’t make any difference. But it’s only a problem on Snow Leopard. I wondered if the problem was that my application’s folder is only defined in the application packages’ “Destination” field — I don’t set up a prototype folder hierarchy inside the packages. Switch between custom and standard install mode. => The choices are correctly selected. Some choices are selected or not depending on the existence of these files. 4. move to the Installation Type step (the custom install list is already visible) So either this is a bug (always a possibility), the designed behavior (the other name for a bug according to BugReporter) or really the designed behavior. In the 3rd case, it would be nice to have a method in the Installer Plugin SDK to force the choices to be recomputed because their dependencies could be different after visiting an Installer Plugin step.
