This way it is not possible to bypass Gatekeeper by including some package that has not been part of the initial signature. After all Gatekeeper has no means to verify that your external package is still the same as it was when the including package has been signed.

When I tested using an external package (either local or downloaded from a http server), I never had any success with signing. Even when using the same certificate(s). I'm not sure this is supported. File a bug report on the Bug Reporter site (http://bugreport.apple.com) They may have switched to auto-layout and getting undesired results. It's never been a good idea to manipulate the .plist file directly (for instance you can't be sure that the Dock process will not save its settings when it quits). I would suggest to check with dockutil (https://code.google.com/p/dockutil/) or emmett (http://s.sudre.free.fr/Software/DevPotPourri.html) whether this works more reliably. Hi, mpkg generated with Packages 1.1 when installed on Mac OS 10.9 in Spanish is getting truncated. When same is used on Mountain Lion no truncation is seen. Issue not seen with other languages.
