If you search in there, you'll see that this question comes up again and again and again: http://lists.apple.com/archives/installer-dev/2005/Dec/msg00047.html Don't thank me, thank Stéphane. I am using PackageMaker 2.0.1 (120) I am having several problems:
If I try to specify "~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/" as the Default Location in the Configuration screen, it puts the files in /~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins where the ~ is the actual tilda character, and is not replaced by the current user's home. This seems contrary to what I am reading should happen.
If the package is installed, and I re-run the installer with a newer made installer package (to check installation changes) the files in the destination to not get overwritten with the new ones in the new package. I am not changing the version. How can it be made to overwrite?
during testing, I was putting the files into /Library/Internet Plug-Ins and specifing that Administrator authentication be used, but the installer never asked for a password. what gives? my current user is allowed to administer the computer, and for all other things administrata is asked for password.
