Thanks for the ideas. I'll have to get a feel for the necessity of the key or not. It's a very simple app, which works fine when dropped on a machine and fired up, but I'd like to have license agreements and possibly product keys to keep things as honest as I can. I'm not sure that the keys are necessary given the target audience for my product, but I'm still interested. You can shove a license agreement in your installer as a text or RTF file, or if you're not going to be using an installer, put it on your downloads page.
