"You are not allowed to install the software in the default location on the disk 'Macintosh HD.' Check with the administrator of your computer." The error occurs after the destination drive is chosen (the packages require root volume) and Continue is clicked. I am logged in as the admin user when trying to do the install. Any ideas? Other idea: - is there any file or folder installed in /Applications, /Library? If the answer is yes, do you ask for root or admin authentication and are the permissions correct for those folders and files? I'm installing a folder and subsequent app into /Applications. I do ask for admin authentication. Not root. Are you referring to the folders and files on the that make up the various packages of the meta-package? If so, I'll check the permissions on these and let you know. No, I was just referring to the permissions on the /Applications folder in your pax archive. I've seen installations failed because the permissions were not root:admin 775 on this folder. This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
