I've encountered a strange problem on Mac 10.4.6: when I create a package that contains a compressed archive of files (i.e. Archive.pax.gz), the setuid bit for the installed files is NOT preserved. However, when I use a non-compressed archive (i.e. Archive.pax), the setuid IS preserved. Has anybody run across the same issue and found a work-around for it?
