When we click on an old-style package format (Bundle), we can see the package version in the information tab which the OS gets from the Info.plist file. But for flat packages, I see that it does not show the version information. Is it even possible to show that? Because there is no Info.plist file there and I tried to mention the version in PackageInfo file but it didn't work. Is there anything I am missing or is it just not possible?
AFAIK, it's not possible to display it in the Finder as the Finder looks for the information in the Info.plist file (and segment) of applications. It may still be looking for the info in the old resources files. It can be possible to find the version with some line of codes or a script though.
