Another tip: you can log into the installer log using the command line tool 'logger -p install.debug' I tried this, but it didn't print anything. Is it sending the output somewhere else (other than the terminal)? Yes, 'logger' connects to syslog, which funnels the output acording to /etc/syslog.conf 'logger -p install.debug' sends a message to the 'install' facility, at the 'debug' level.
