I've been using FileStorm for the past several years, and I have been pretty happy with it. Much easier than trying to do everything by hand. And, yes, FileStorm allows you to create a customized DMG with a background image. Does anyone know a good alternative to the DMG Canvas program? I have been having problems getting the file names to show up if I build a DMG Canvas 2.0 project using Snow Leopard and their backward compatibility option. My file names won't wrap around, and they seem to be forced fit to the width of the icon, so with size 64 icons and 12 point font, I can't eve see the entire word "Applications" under my alias. I've emailed the DMG Canvas supplier and I hope they will respond, but I know I will be asked about what alternatives were tried if we can't get the problem fixed.
