Is Packages still a decent solution for creating a package installer? I have been using MindVision VISE X for many years to distribute an older Mac app, but have not released a version in about 2.5 years. I now find that MindVision is apparently "gone", and I cannot renew my license and hence use it any longer. So I have to create a completely different installer mechanism. My app is not just a simple install into the Applications folder; there are a number of other files that need to go into various system level directories. As it's a much older Carbon-based app, it is still compiled on Xcode 3.6.2 (in Mavericks) and hence I cannot use any of the newer Xcode-based packaging tools. If not Packages, what would you suggest?
