Installer-dev mailing list (Installer-dev@lists.apple.com) Help/Unsubscribe/Update your Subscription: http://lists.apple.com/mailman/options/installer-dev/site_archiver%40lists.a... I'm trying to build an installation package (using PackageMaker.app) that can only install to an external drive. This is for a product that runs from an external HDD and I want the installer to be idiot- proof. This means that I don't want the user to get confused and install to the root volume (or any other internal drive, as well). The installer is actually a software update to an existing product, so there are some "sentinel" files that I know will be on the external drive. I've tried using "Edit Package Requirements" under the "Configuration" tab and selecting the "File Exists sentinelFile == true" option, but this doesn't seem to work -- the root volume still gets allowed and the external drive doesn't.
