Here is a suggestion of two pieces of software for if you on anyone else is ever again in a similar situation, of trying to figure out where things go put by an installer package. (normally someone else's but works for ones that you created as well) Both will let you know what files have changed on your system. I personally find loggen to be more useful when I'm trying to monitor something where quite a few files change or a restart is required. On the other hand, fseventer is faster for when only a small number of things change. But if a lot changes, I like having the text report of loggen better. Of course, these programs will only tell you things (files & folders) that actually do change. If something should be changing, but isn't because of a permissions problem, neither program will list them. Well, I'm familiar enough with receipts to know to look in the / Library/Receipts folder for my package's recept, and remove it. Trouble is, there is no such receipt. I found a few files in / Library/Receipts/boms, but nothing in /Library/Receipts. I even had a colleague look to double-check. I also checked ~/Library/Receipts. It seems to me that something is written in the installdb DB, and I have no idea how to check that. This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
