site_archiver@lists.apple.com Delivered-To: installer-dev@lists.apple.com Hi Bill, This issue seems to be present only in Snow Leopard. In Leopard it is quite fast. Is there any workaround for this? Could we speed it up somehow? Is there any option in Package maker through which we can post pone the kext related housekeeping for later? During installation (one kext + one application), the installer hangs almost a minute at "Registering updated components..." What exactly is it waiting for ? Its not a very complex setup...
1) CMD-L displays the installer log, CMD-3 shows all info.
2) kext-related housekeeping is slow. Yes, even if you have just one kext and it's teeny.
