I thought that relocation will allow me to upgrade an installed application from v1.0 to v2.0. But this does not seem to be the case here. Can anyone help clarify this? This is for a MacTech article that I am writing. I think that means "make buttons in the installer UI that will install the thing in a different place." I think your story was "after the installer is done, the user drags things elsewhere." The second installer would have "found" the Receipt for the first install, in /Library/Receipts/. But since you probably didn't change the receipt file when dragging the app elsewhere, the second installer didn't know to overwrite your moved application.
