Installer-dev mailing list (Installer-dev@lists.apple.com) Help/Unsubscribe/Update your Subscription: http://lists.apple.com/mailman/options/installer-dev/site_archiver%40lists.a... I've just started using Iceberg, and have a question about file permissions. I need the group and owner permissions to be maintained when installing, but when I look at the info for a file that I've added, while the permissions look correct, it states that the owner is "Howard" (me). Is this ok, or is there a specific owner selection I should choose that would specify "whoever's the current owner on the destination machine"? I believe the 'usual' way to make sure permission/user information is correct for making packages is to script creating a 'source' folder, which holds the folder structure of where you want the files installed, and have the script set the proper info on the files in those folders. Now, it's been quite some time since I looked at Iceberg (vs using PackageMaker), but I found this to work well for me, for the non- relocatable packages I've made that need admin permission to install. It make need to be done differently if you are installing into the user's home folder or if the package can be installed on other volumes. This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
