There is no built in support for installing into ~/. Check the list archives for workarounds suggested. As for Admin permissions, since you are an admin, it allows for installation, if your user was not it would ask for authentication. If I try to specify "~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/" as the Default Location in the Configuration screen, it puts the files in /~/Library/ Internet Plug-Ins where the ~ is the actual tilda character, and is not replaced by the current user's home. This seems contrary to what I am reading should happen. If the package is installed, and I re-run the installer with a newer made installer package (to check installation changes) the files in the destination to not get overwritten with the new ones in the new package. I am not changing the version. How can it be made to overwrite? during testing, I was putting the files into /Library/Internet Plug-Ins and specifing that Administrator authentication be used, but the installer never asked for a password. what gives? my current user is allowed to administer the computer, and for all other things administrata is asked for password. _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
