We use Packages for our software installer (flat format), and noticed with the most recent OS versions of 10.7 and 10.8, the permissions we set for a created folder in Application Support now get ignored - if I set it to 777 in Packages it comes out 744 in the Finder. Also we have a plug-in within the installer that used to be able to create folders with 777 permission in Application Support but it no longer works- are these new security measures imposed by recent OS versions?
