I have no answers for you, here. I thought the same thing, and was surprised in the same way, when I tried it out. In fact, since I was thinking that way, I almost asked you why you don't just put your installation.configuration file into the Resources directory of the package (or mpkg), so that it *would* be copied to that temp directory and be where you expect. Maybe you should do that anyway, since we both thought there was a copy-to-temp going on. InstallationCheck and VolumeCheck scripts are not copied to a temporary directory AFAIK.
