So, what benefits are there really to "flat packages" ? It seems like the tools are buggy, they have less features, they only work on 10.5.... any insight? If you target OS X 10.4, you will be able to add it manually (or with a script) after building your package/metapackage. If I cannot do it, how can I revert to PackageMaker 2.0 and just create the old, folder-based installation packages? (the plugin is working fine with a sample folder-style pkg). If you need plugins, use bundle packages. In PackageMaker, tell it you're targeting 10.4. You can then set rules to disallow install on less than 10.5.4, for example.
