If I disconnect from the network so our NFS mounts are unavailable, the package builds quickly and normally. So I'd say packagemaker _is_ traversing the symlinks, but obviously for no good purpose, as when the other side of the links are not available, it does not warn or error. Are there known issues with the command-line packagemaker (3.0.3) and symlinks in the package root? Is packagemaker traversing the symlinks in the packageroot? I don't see a --no- follow type option in packagemaker's command-line options.
