New to the list, reach through the archives on lists.apple.com. A perhaps silly question.... but is it possible to add any type of plug-in to an Apple installer that would add an additional panel to the install? I'm thinking of a task like prompting the user for a serial number before continuing with the install. Since I can't find any Apple installers that do this, and the idea presents challenges for remote and command-line install, I suspect the answer is 'no', but I thought I'd ask One workaround is to launch an application via a script: preflight, postflight, etc... But since this can be easily worked around by the user (and remote installation is indeed challenging), you may not assume that the serialization will always be performed during this installation process. So you need to have another way to ask for serialization in the software itself. This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
