Testing for downgrade in Distribution Scripts
site_archiver@lists.apple.com Delivered-To: installer-dev@lists.apple.com Thread-index: AcbcPkMwgYibcUgxEduHzAAKlbs3igAnJA6TAAAmh+cAB9yNdw== Thread-topic: Testing for downgrade in Distribution Scripts User-agent: Microsoft-Entourage/11.2.5.060620 Ok. I have a Distribution Script that among other things will install Quicktime 7.1.3 if the system is > 10.4 and passes the following test: ! my.target.receiptForIdentifier('com.apple.pkg.QuickTime713') This works ok, but I'm assuming that it will cause problems once a machine has been upgraded to Quicktime 7.1.4. How do I update this to also ensure that it is an upgrade (or to disallow downgrades)? I think it has something to do with choices.*.packageUpgradeAction, but I'm not sure how to use it. I apologize if this has been covered before, I have been unable to search the archived reliably for 2 days now. Thanks, Sean -- Sean P. Kane Macintosh Client Engineering Support | Nike, Inc.
