Re: meta-package created on 10.3 won't install on 10.2
site_archiver@lists.apple.com Delivered-To: installer-dev@lists.apple.com How many packages are in the meta package? What are the privileges of each package? Are any of them relocatable? If so, which ones? Chris Stéphane Sudre wrote: On mercredi, avril 27, 2005, at 07:32 PM, Matt DeFoor wrote: Any ideas? Installer-dev mailing list (Installer-dev@lists.apple.com) Help/Unsubscribe/Update your Subscription: http://lists.apple.com/mailman/options/installer-dev/site_archiver%40lists.a... I get the following error when trying to install a meta-package on 10.2 that was created (and works fine) on 10.3. "You are not allowed to install the software in the default location on the disk 'Macintosh HD.' Check with the administrator of your computer." The error occurs after the destination drive is chosen (the packages require root volume) and Continue is clicked. I am logged in as the admin user when trying to do the install. Other idea: - is there any file or folder installed in /Applications, / Library? If the answer is yes, do you ask for root or admin authentication and are the permissions correct for those folders and files? I'm installing a folder and subsequent app into /Applications. I do ask for admin authentication. Not root. Are you referring to the folders and files on the that make up the various packages of the meta-package? If so, I'll check the permissions on these and let you know. This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
