Unfortunately, this behavior it not really what my customers expect since they want to install the same package (same id), first in the default location, and than in another location (of the newer version of the software for which my package is an extension). When they install the second time they loose the first installation. What would be the standard way to achieve two installations of the same package at two different location (of which one is the default location)? That sounds like the designed behavior as long as the package identifier is the same in your A and B case for your relocatable package.
