PackageMaker.app and plist Requirements
site_archiver@lists.apple.com Delivered-To: installer-dev@lists.apple.com Thanks, -Geoff I used the PackageMaker.app from XCode 2.3 (PackageMaker version 2.1.1) recently to quickly put together some installers. In my case, it's a Spotlight importer and some related open source libraries, so the requirement is 10.4 or later. The "Configuration" panel contains "Edit Package Requirements..." which looked to be the best way to be sure /System/Library/ CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist was >= 10.4. While PackageMaker.app offers "File Exists" and "Info from Bundle" in the list, it doesn't offer plist. So there doesn't seem to be a good way to use the GUI PackageMaker.app and reliably check system version info. Is there any way of doing this using the GUI, or do I need to file an enhancement request against PackageMaker.app? P.S. Yes, I'm aware I can change the Info.plist for the package from the command-line, which is what I'm doing. I'm just mystified that there's no way to do this from PackageMaker.app -- it seems so basic! _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
