The idea was that since a flat package is first unarchived with its pre/postinstallation scripts in a temporary location, you would probably not be affected by the issue. But this requires 10.5. I am using packagemaker 3.0.4 which comes with Xcode 3.2.3. We are delivering our products in the form iso and we use the mount point name (volume name) "User software". If I do an ls -l in the terminal, I get the following path.

/Volume/User software - mount path for iso mounted first (The complete path to the installer is /Volume/User software/OSX/OSX installer.mpkg)

The problem I am facing is, if I start the installation from the mount I have mounted second, the $1 in preflight script will always gives the path of the installer which I have mounted first. ie I get the value /Volume/User software/OSX/OSX installer.mpkg in $1. Same is happening in postflight script also.

Please help me on this. This is very urgent and we will not be able to ship our products without fixing this. A help is needed and it is greatly appreciated.
