The product is a plug-in for another product. We install into the user home directory, so the installer has a minimum version of 10.5. 10.4 users do a manual install rather than a managed install. The parent product now has two versions available, so we want to install our software into different locations based on which version or versions are installed. So I have set up a component for each parent product version. It seems I need to add a requirement for each component to determine whether or not to install it. I have read that you can search for the presence of a bundle with a particular bundle ID on the user's system, which is just what I need. But how does this translate into PackageMaker requirement options? It seems that some variation of the "Search Result is Found" requirement may be what I need, but I don't know what the "component" or "search ID" options refer to. If this is documented somewhere, could you please point me there? I have yet to see documentation for PackageMaker 3 that explains what these different options in the GUI do. The PackageMaker User Guide doesn't go into enough detail, and the Software Delivery Guide appears to predate 10.5 and thus does not cover the PackageMaker 3 options.
