PackageMaker resets permissions under Leopard

Installer-dev mailing list (Installer-dev@lists.apple.com) Help/Unsubscribe/Update your Subscription: http://lists.apple.com/mailman/options/installer-dev/site_archiver%40lists.a... Pulling my hair out over this. I have a package (.pmdoc) for Leopard created under PackageMaker with the iPhone SDK/Xcode 3.1.2. I am trying to install various files in a hierarchy: some to /usr/bin, another to /private/etc, and a couple of empty directories, which need to be writable, to /Users/Shared. Here's the kicker: when PackageMaker creates its package, the directories for /Users/Shared get processed, along with everything else, into root/wheel user/group settings, disregarding my settings from before I clicked "Build" or "Build and Run." I saw this posting in the archives: <http://lists.apple.com/archives/installer-dev/2007/Dec/msg00042.html
, which makes it look to me as though this issue remains to be fixed. With my greatest apologies for being dense, does the switch from relative to absolute paths, which this posting mentions, entail choosing "Absolute" from the gear pop-up button next to the Destination text field in the package configuration view? Are there any other steps involved? Has anyone else grappled with this? This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
