I have a small, new package (containing a startup item) that is now shared by a bunch of my applications. This package is required, and I don't want to go around making meta-packages (or whatever they're called these days or in 10.6) of my existing application packages. What I want to do is just launch a silent install of this package (using "installer") in my postinstall/postupgrade scripts. I'll embed the dependent package in my primary package Resources, and just launch it from the script. This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
