This appears to be because the OS thinks I already have it installed and is just "being helpful." I have verified that there is no receipt in either the /Library/Receipts folder or in the dB by calling, "pkgutil --packages" I assume this is a receipt issue because if I change the CFBundleIdentifier string in package.pkg/Contents/Info.plist then it reports the correct size. Questions: 1) why am I seeing this behavior? 2) is there some other place I should check for receipts? 3) what is a good way to clean up my development box so that I don't run into this in the future?
