I just started testing it today under 10.3.9 and ran across this problem. I was installing onto the 2nd partition of a firewire drive when the error occurred. If I install to the other partition of the drive (which contains the OS), it installs without error. On Sep 27, 2005, at 7:19 PM, Steve Sappington wrote:
Had so much success with PackageMaker under Tiger, I figured I would build an installer for our Panther app- I'm getting an error at the end of the installer:
"There were errors installing the software" Please try installing again
Console prints this: Installer[608] Exception raised during posting of notification. Ignored. exception: Some files for PantherInstall may not have been written correctly. (code 1)
Erm... is there a way to find out what's wrong a little more specifically?
The app does seem to run OK after it's installed, I see nothing obviously missing or corrupt- the only issue I see is my postinstall and postupgrade scripts aren't running, but I assume that's because the installer is not finishing successfully-
