Yep, I've just done a title for a games company where this is an issue. The only content installed by the package itself is the game's .app - the game's data is extracted into the app during postflight using 7-Zip as this was the only way to get it to fit onto CD. We have already had people asking if the installer is hanging as it can take up to 10 minutes for the content to decompress. We're aware of this limitation of the Installer (not being able to provide feedback from installer scripts as to their duration) and we've got it documented as work we'll hope to address soon.
