Greetings All
A recent email to the list reminded me that I should have made this announcement years ago: MacNetworkProg is deprecated in favour of DevForums.
<https://developer.apple.com/forums/>
When you post to DevForums use an appropriate tag so that you attract the attention of the right folks. At the end of this email you’ll find a list of common networking tags.
I don’t yet have a concrete plan for shutting down the mailing list. Once I do, I’ll post the details here. Rest assured that a critical goal is to ensure that the list archive remains available on the ’net.

On a historical note, I looked through my records to find the first email to the mailing list. AFAICT it was from Chuq, in Jan 2002, telling everyone that we’d changed the lists name to MacNetworkProg because the previous name, OpenTransportDev, was now somewhat off topic (-: And lo! that email is actually still in the archive.

My first record of the /Apple/ OpenTransportDev mailing list dates to Nov 1998, although there was a previous incarnation run by Stairways that dates back much further. It was started as opentpt (at Stairways) in Jul 1995 and then moved to open-transport-dev (at eGroups) in Feb 1999.
Wow, that’s a long time ago!
