Partly answering my own question: It looks like the socket option SO_RCVTIMEO does basically what we want. The man page says "If a receive operation has been blocked for this much time without receiving additional data, it returns with a short count or with the error EWOULDBLOCK if no data were received.” Will CFStream interpret that as an error and propagate it back to the delegate? —Jens _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
